Bernard is a visual artist and musician from Southern California with a heart for building creative community and culture shaped by the gospel. He and his wife Rachel have three kids, and moved to the Twin Cities area from Los Angeles to join TCW with its growing mission.
Bernard received his MFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California, he taught Fine Art at a Reformed Christian college for 10 years and has shown his artwork extensively throughout Los Angeles. Bernard has been the Director of Art and Worship at Grace Pasadena Church for almost 20 years. The community of musicians and artists there have collaborated on recording projects, gallery shows, events in the city, and most recently they created an album of Psalms and Hymns written specifically for their church congregation.
He and his wife Rachel have a band called Loud Forest and have made 5 studio albums. They've also given a TED-X talk and performance at Pepperdine University. Every Christmas Bernard and Rachel gather musicians from across Southern California to produce an original Christmas album called Reindeer Tribe, they have 14 albums and counting.
Bernard and his family are excited to be here in Minnesota where they will have their first opportunity to experience four seasons.
