Mission

NEW (Newly Entering the Workforce) is a community of young professionals in the Twin Cities dedicated to fostering genuine, growth-minded fellowship among individuals in their 20s and early 30s. Our mission is to create a welcoming environment that emphasizes personal and professional development, and encourages deep, genuine conversations.

The Problem NEW Solves

For many young adults, the transition into the workforce is harder than expected. They move into a new city for their first real job and find themselves surrounded by people, yet still isolated. They face pressure to succeed quickly and constant temptation to live in ways that feel exciting short-term but empty long-term. What's often missing is real community, not networking, but genuine relationships and people who care enough to be honest. NEW exists to create that space.

Who NEW Is For

Many participants are:

•     New to the workforce, navigating life after college

•     Looking for deeper connection beyond work and social media

•     Spiritually curious — open to exploring faith, meaning, and purpose

•     Ambitious professionals who want community without the transactional feel of networking

NEW and Trinity Church Wayzata

NEW Minneapolis currently operates under the umbrella of Trinity Church Wayzata as one of its ministries. TCW provides foundational support while allowing NEW to operate with a healthy level of independence. All funds given to NEW through TCW (for tax-deductible purposes) are designated for NEW and used for its programs and outreach. Our intent is to pursue independent nonprofit designation at the appropriate time.

Vision

We envision a Twin Cities community where young professionals connect authentically, support one another's growth, and engage in meaningful conversations that span career, personal life, beliefs, and beyond. Through monthly  large group gatherings and community activities, we aim to cultivate a space where individuals feel valued, heard, and empowered. Our hope is that this leads to a curiosity about the Biblical wisdom shared at our large group events along with opportunities to share the gospel through relationships.

NEW Minneapolis began in April 2025. We truly believe that this generation of young adults is desperate for real community, and our hope is that NEW can be a place where they can find it, and we are eager to share the reason for our hope in the Lord’s timing (1 Peter 3:15). We can envision a future where every large metropolitan area has a NEW or a few groups like it, where younger individuals can find the connections they long for and discover the true sustenance of the Living Water.
